JOB DESCRIPTION: RETAIL ASSISTANT AND SUNDAY SUPERVISOR
This role will require you to work every Sunday 8:00AM-4:30PM.
You will need to have a full UK driving licence and the use of a car.
STAFF
- Oversee absence procedure.
- Ensure shops are staffed appropriately.
- On the day staff scheduling to cover unplanned absences.
- Motivate Sunday Retail Team.
TRAINING
Work closely with Sunday Retail Team to ensure they have the tools and motivation to:
- Increase sales and customer numbers.
· Help provide high quality, consistent customer service and ensure high standards are maintained in all aspects of the running of the shops.
- Have excellent product knowledge.
- Reporting sales and initiating target driven sales.
COMMUNICATION
- Keep communication channels open and clear.
- Use discretion when handling information, in accordance with GDPR.
- Communicate information to staff, office and bakery.
- Anticipate problems and flag up to the senior management team.
- Report back to Commercial Manager on a regular basis and keep informed of all significant developments.
CUSTOMERS
You will be required to work in shops and to cover sickness/holiday.
- Understand the importance of good customer service and how to achieve it.
- Deal with any customer complaints – appropriately and professionally.
- Acknowledge the customer immediately – be friendly, helpful and smile
GENERAL ATTITUDE AND BEHAVIOUR

MONEY
- Security –ensure money, keys and premises are secure and safe in all shops.
PRODUCTS
- Know what all the products are called and what category (on the till) they belong to.
- Make sure price tickets are always displayed on all the products, and you charge the correct price for all goods to all customers.
- Ensure correct rotation of stock.
- Ensure no stale or bad goods are sold.
- Waste control
- Upselling all products on offer, including hot drinks and daily offers.
- Ensure staff are aware of and are promoting offers.
ADMIN & PROCEDURES
- Ensure completion of paperwork/Compliance Genie.
- Meeting the necessary food safety standard requirements.
- Daily fridge and hot food temperature checks.
CLEANLINESS AND HYGIENE
- Be aware of all Food Hygiene rules and regulations.
- Ensure all shops are kept clean and tidy.
- Ensure completion of all cleaning jobs.
- Ensure yourself and all Sunday Retail Assistants have good hygiene, and appearance is always neat and tidy.
