JOB DESCRIPTION: RETAIL MANAGER
We are looking for a Full-Time Retail Manager to join our shop in Whitton!
Are you a natural leader with a passion for great food, excellent service, and team development? We’re looking for a hands-on Retail Manager to lead one of our busy high street shops. You’ll be at the heart of daily operations, inspiring your team to deliver an unbeatable customer experience, drive sales, and keep everything running like clockwork.
Drive Sales & Customer Experience:
· Boost footfall and sales by delivering top-tier service and standout store standards.
· Create a warm, friendly environment where customers feel welcomed, valued, and want to return.
· Resolve customer issues calmly and professionally, escalating where needed.
· Track and work towards key targets (footfall, sales, waste, etc.).
· Ensure additional revenue streams (Too Good To Go, delivery partners) are managed effectively and executed with excellence.
Lead, Motivate & Develop Your Team:
· Train, coach, and lead your team to be the best – from onboarding new starters to on-going development.
· Set the tone – lead by example and foster a positive, respectful, and productive culture.
· Manage rotas fairly and handle team issues confidently with support from HR or your Area Manager when needed.
Operational Excellence:
· Oversee daily operations including stock ordering, waste control, and accurate cash handling.
· Ensure consistent product quality, presentation, and compliance with brand standards.
· Use stock smartly – reduce waste while keeping shelves fresh, full, and inviting.
Compliance & Admin:
· Stay on top of essential admin – from stock orders to compliance checks.
· Maintain spotless hygiene standards in line with EHO and Safer Food Better Business guidelines.
· Ensure daily records and digital checks are completed accurately and on time.
Communicate & Collaborate:
· Be the link between your shop, your team, and head office – sharing updates, feed-back, and ideas.
· Spot issues early and flag them to your Area Manager – we’re here to help, not add pressure.
· Contribute to improvements – suggest new product ideas or better ways of working.
What We’re Looking For
· Previous experience managing a fast-paced retail or food outlet.
· Strong leadership and people management skills.
· Excellent communication and a customer-first mindset.
· Organised, proactive, and calm under pressure.
