Role Overview

We are seeking a creative and commercially minded Part-Time Marketing Manager to lead and deliver marketing and social media activity for a growing SME bakery manufacturer, retailer, and wholesaler.

This role is responsible for elevating the brand, increasing visibility, and driving both online and in-store sales across multiple channels. Working closely with the Commercial Director, the successful candidate will shape and execute a cohesive marketing strategy aligned to business growth objectives.

Reporting to: Commercial Director

Salary: Up to £40,000 pro rata plus statutory entitlements

Working Pattern: 2 days per week (flexible)

Key Responsibilities

Brand Development & Strategy

● Develop and implement a marketing strategy to build an elevated, consistent brand presence

● Ensure brand identity, tone of voice, and visual standards are maintained across all touchpoints

● Lead the implementation of brand values and mission, ensuring key USPs are effectively communicated and embedded across all customer touchpoints, including digital platforms, email marketing, and loyalty programmes.

● Identify opportunities to strengthen brand positioning within retail and wholesale markets

Digital Marketing & Social Media

● Plan, create, and manage engaging content across social media platforms (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)

● Grow audience engagement and follower base through organic and paid activity

● Manage content calendar and oversee day-to-day social media execution

● Monitor trends and leverage relevant opportunities to enhance visibility

Campaign Management

● Design and execute marketing campaigns to drive sales, footfall, and customer engagement

● Support product launches, seasonal promotions, and key trading periods

● Ensure cohesive execution of marketing initiatives, maintaining alignment with business objectives and collaborating cross-functionally to drive results

E-commerce & Online Presence

● Support optimisation of website and online sales channels

● Work with external partners where required (e.g. web developers, designers)

● Lead customer journey mapping and develop recommendations based on feedback and behaviour analysis to enhance customer engagement and retention and conversion

Retail & Trade Marketing

● Develop in-store marketing materials and promotional activity

● Support wholesale marketing initiatives and customer communications

● Ensure consistent messaging across B2C and B2B channels

Analytics & Reporting

● Track and report on marketing performance, including social media, campaigns, and sales impact

● Use insights to refine strategy and improve ROI

● Provide regular updates and recommendations to the Commercial Director

Budget Management

● Manage marketing spend effectively within agreed budgets

● Identify cost-effective opportunities to maximise impact

Skills & Experience

Essential:

● Proven experience in a marketing role, ideally within food, retail, or FMCG

● Strong social media and content creation skills

● Commercial awareness with a focus on driving sales

● Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a part-time capacity

● Excellent communication and organisational skills

Desirable:

● Experience in SME or fast-growing businesses

● Knowledge of bakery, food production, or hospitality sectors

● Basic design skills (e.g. Canva, Adobe)

● Experience with e-commerce platforms and email marketing tools
